We are required to remain in quarantine or lockdown for the duration of the Covid-19. We can’t visit the cinemas, shop in shopping centers, or eat at fine restaurants every weekend. And we are restricted from exploring top destinations on our bucket-list.
Even though it’s impossible to live our daily routines and enjoy the common sources of entertainment, we still find ways to escape boredom. Some choose to watch Netflix or garden, while others prefer streaming movies. Some enjoy reading their favorite novels. Some spend quality times with their family.
You might find repetitive tasks boring and uninteresting. Is there a better way to stay productive? Sure! Rubik’s Cube was famous for a reason.
A Short History About Rubik’s Cube
In 1977, the Magic Cube was released. It was then introduced to America as Rubik’s Cube.
“In 1980,” I attended the International Toy Fair New York. That marked the start of Rubik’s Cube USA. It would go on to become a very popular American invention. It was a hit in New York, as well as other places on the continents.” Erno Rubik, the inventor and architect of the invention, said.
“Over the decades, the six-sided, multicolored object captured people’s interest and attention, regardless of nationality, education, age or gender. Rubik’s Cube was popular among kids, teens, as well as adults. They shared it their families, close friends and colleagues, as well as with neighbors,” he explained.

Rubik’s Cube — A Real Challenge For Players
Most likely you’ve seen a Rubik’s Cube. You’ve probably jumbled the colors. Then, it was time to restore the order. How was that experience? It’s not an easy task, is it?

Edge is the Rubik’s Cube part where two colors meet. An edge piece is found in every corner of the Rubik’s Cube. The center cube, located on each side, is the center. It only has one colour.
A layer is where you typically turn the Cube. It has nine blocks. Rubik’s Cube is also composed of six faces. These are commonly called sides. They include the right face (left face), down face (up face), back face (front face), entire Cube, and the middle face.
It is possible to turn layers by using inverted or regular. What are they, you ask? Inverted is a counterclockwise turning, while regular is a normal turning.
How about the algorithm. It is a series if operations that reorients each block towards a desired result.
Permutation on the other hand, is the process by which all blocks are moved into the arrangement or configuration that every player prefers.
Now that you have mastered the basics of Rubik’s Cube you can start to use different strategies. You can solve the corners with white crosses, make a yellow cross, then swap all the yellow edges of the top layer. Position all corners correctly and you can solve the remaining corners. That’s it!
It is much easier said than accomplished. You need patience, persistence, commitment, practice and a lot more time to get a Rubik’s Cube back into its original position.
But your efforts will yield results. It fosters curiosity, openness, honesty, and intellectual curiosity. It promotes focus and perseverance. It will punish impatience as well as prejudice. There are no secrets that will get you to the best solutions. The Cube is about the triumph of human genius over the greatest complexity.

Finding grand-scale, innovative solutions is not easy. But it’s like the Cube. It takes courage and faith to rely on our innovative minds in the face of a future pandemic.
